The SPL22 Token on Solana is an enhanced version of the existing SPL token standard, offering additional features and greater flexibility. It includes a set of extensions that provide developers with more control over token functionality. Some key extensions include transfer fees, interest-bearing tokens, and other advanced mechanisms, making SPL22 ideal for innovative financial applications and custom tokenomics.

Creating SPL22 token is very similar to creating an SPL token. Only two new optional features are added for the user which are

  • Transfer Tax: A certain percentage of tokens is deducted as tax on each transfer, paid by the sender. Users must configure parameters such as fees, maximum fees, withdrawal authority, and configuration authority. Additional details can be found by hovering over the provided tooltip next to the input option.

  • Interest-Bearing Tokens: These tokens accumulate interest over time, enabling passive earnings for holders. This feature allows for dynamic token supply adjustments and is useful for DeFi applications and staking mechanisms.

The fee-structure for creating SPL22 token is same as SPL token.
